2.27. Synchronize Images

2.27.1 Synchronize Series in One Study

Synchronization is applied if two or more series are opened for the same study. This function allows you to scroll images in several series synchronously. By default the option is disabled.

To enable synchronization:

  1. click on the arrow on the right side of the Sync series scroll PIC button on the toolbar.
  2. Check the item Sync series (Same study).
  3. If this button is not pressed, press it.

The images will be synchronized automatically. Click on the left side of the Sync series scroll button to disable synchronization.

This tool is also available from the Image main menu item.

2.27.2 Synchronize Series in Several Studies

Synchronization is applied if two or more series of one or more studies are opened at a time. This function allows you to scroll images in multiple series simultaneously. By default the option is disabled.

To enable synchronization:

  1. click on the arrow on the right side of the button Sync series scroll PIC button on the toolbar.
  2. Check one of the following items:
    • synchronize from current positions;
    • Sync series with specified distance.
  3. If this button is not pressed, press it.

Click on the left side of the button Sync series scroll to disable synchronization.



To set up manual synchronization:

  1. Select the item Set distance to sync series... from the Sync series scroll PIC button menu. A dialog box similar to the one shown in Fig. 2.40 will be displayed.
  2. Check the series relative to which the shift should be set.
  3. In other series, set the shift (millimeters) relative to the selected series. To do this, click the left mouse button on the value in the Distance column and enter a new value.
  4. To apply the settings, click OK. To cancel the actions, click Cancel

During the scrolling process, the images will be shifted relative to each other by the specified values.

2.27.3 Synchronization by a Point

To choose the slices in all the windows that are the closest to the point selected, use the PIC Sync by Point tool. To synchronize, choose a reference point in one of the viewer windows. You will see crosshairs at this point. The synchronized windows will show the slices that are the closest to the point chosen; you will see crosshairs at the closest point of the synchronized slice. If the reference point is not present on the synchronized slice, the crosshairs shown will have a black spot in the centre. The slice thickness is determined by the modality.
