Inobitec DICOM Viewer

17.3. Purchase of a License

17.2.1 Registration on the License Server Using Internet

When you first start the DICOM Viewer after installing, it will attempt to register itself on the license server. During its registration, the DICOM Viewer does not transmit any personal data.

If you have a license key, click the License and select the Enter key... item. In the dialog box that opens (Fig. 17.1), enter the license key and click OK to confirm or Cancel to cancel the input. If the license key is not valid, the activation fails.

To close the DICOM Viewer, click Exit.

The Lite and Pro editions are registered separately.

If the license key does not support the activation of Additional Modules, and you need to replace it with a new one, click on the Enter New Key button and enter the new key.

17.2.2 License Proxy Server for automated corporate licensing

To automatize the licensing of a large number of copies of the program in a company, a License Proxy Server is used. The License Proxy Server must have a permanent connection to the License Server. It is installed on the computer located in the local network of the company, and it loads the set of keys necessary for licensing all the copies of the program. At the first start, the program accesses the License Proxy Server and asks for the key. It saves users the need to enter the license keys. If necessary, additional keys can be loaded into the License Proxy Server.

17.2.3 Terminal License Server for corporate licensing

The terminal License Server allows you to run a certain number of copies of the program on the company‘s local network. The terminal server must have a permanent connection to the License Server. For the Terminal License Server, you need either a license key, similar to the key for the DICOM Viewer or the Guardant electronic key. It does not matter which computers the program is installed on. If the maximum number of copies of the program is already running on the company’s network, then a new copy cannot be launched.
